Rich is a former Coos Bay Police officer and one of the members who is a civilian on the team. He has a total of 16 years as a police officer in Oregon and is currently employed with Flying Cross by Fechheimer as a manufacturers representative.

Rich’s father was also a Coos Bay Police officer and retired from the department in 1979 after 27 years of dedicated service. He held every rank in the department during his tenure and retired as the Assistant Chief, which is no longer a rank in the department.

Even though Rich lives in Washington, he is very committed to the Bay Area and the Coos Bay to UK project. He was born in North Bend and graduated from Marshfield High School in 1977. His parents and daughter still live in Coos Bay and you can probably see his daughter Kristen at one of the local coffee stands if you look real hard. He also has a son Mark who is serving our country in the Marine Corps in Okinawa. Rich also has a son Arran who is 13 and lives in Washington and is in middle school. CBPD 1982

Rich is still interested in law enforcement, but more along the lines of uniforms. Flying Cross is the largest law enforcement uniform manufacturer in the United States. They product uniforms for the public safety market and have done so since 1842. Rich’s covers all of the Pacific Northwest & the Western region of Canada, which includes Oregon, Washington, Idaho, British Columbia & Alberta.

During his off time, Rich spends time at home and is in the process of remodeling his house and working on his 37 acres. Rich also likes to read and collect police memorabilia. He has been an avid bike rider since about 1998 when he lived in Southern California. He still likes to ride, but the weather is quite different in Washington than California!

Rich hopes that the Coos Bay to UK event is a success and continues as an annual tradition.
