The Coos Bay to UK team partners with Millicoma Intermediate School
The Coos Bay to UK team forms a partnership with Millicoma Intermediate School. The team plans to promote bicycle safety with the school and be positive role models for the students. Additionally, they have linked Millicoma with a school in the United Kingdom that the team will visit during their trip.
The team was introduced to the student body in late October during Red Ribbon week. During this visit they reviewed Halloween safety and reinforced the importance of taking a stand to be drug free for Red Ribbon week.
Some of the other plans the team has for the school include teaching drug prevention and hosting bicycle safety rodeos. They are going to coordinate with the students and teachers to exchange packages with the United Kingdom school which represent the school and the Bay Area. The team plans to share their experiences through an exciting interactive presentation when the return in late May.
